Cherokee People. Cherokee Tribe.

Where did you come from? Who are your people? What is your background? For some, their culture is embedded deep into their every day lives from the minute they were born. For example... have you ever been to an Italian family's house?! I mean "ok! You're Italian! You talk with your hands. You love you grandma and your flag! I get it!" Ha! But really! I love that!Perhaps the food you eat at home reflects your heritage. Other folks have to get blood work taken and analyzed in order to educate them of their ancestors.

I knew who I was from the minute I had the know how to think! I was born into a very, very proud band if Cherokee people. Almond shaped black eyes. Hairless, cinnamon shaded skin. High cheekbones. Those of you who know me can see that I have my father's caucasian colored skin and freckles and Irish blue eyes. In fact it was lil ole me that broke the Cherokee brown skin mold on my mother's side. Despite my resemblance to white oppression 😜 I still feel deeply connected to my Southeastern Native American heritage. Here is a fun fact about myself... I enjoy incorporating original Cherokee fashion into my wardrobe. I encourage every fashion conscious person to do the same! Beware of being a cartoon version of your ethnicity or original country. Do your research! Here are some visuals of what I have found from the people of my past! Dig in there! Dig deep! Ask your grandparents what they remember about their parents. What shaped their fashion? The Great Depression, war, government, immigration, trade...? We all came from somewhere! Take pride in your heritage!
